Dr. Timothy Bransford
Assistant Professor of Animal Studies

Dr. Bransford is a primatologist that works with both wild and captive primates to examine primate foraging and ranging behavior, ecology, conservation biology, and the human-animal interface. He has worked with Bornean orangutans, mantled howler monkeys, lemurs and monkeys endemic to West Africa.

Dr. Kate Detwiler
Associate Professor of Anthropology

Dr. Detwiler specializes in studying rare and endangered primate species in the Congo Basin rainforests in the Democratic Republic of the Congo, hybrid monkeys in Gombe National Park in Western Tanzania, and a local population of introduced African monkeys living in the mangrove swamps in south Florida.

Dr. Sian Evans

Until her recent retirement, Dr. Sian Evans served as the resident primatologist of the DuMond Conservancy and an Instructor of Anthropology and Biology at Florida International University.

Dr. Halloran is the director of The Elgin Centre, a nonprofit organization that provides service dedicated to assisting facilities in providing the means for animals to thrive under their care.

Dr. Darby Proctor
Associate Professor of Psychology
Florida Institute of Technology
Dr. Proctor’s research focuses on decision-making in nonhuman primates in order to understand the evolutionary roots of human decision-making biases. She co-directs the Animal Research Center at the Brevard Zoo where she studies cognition in spider monkeys.

Dr. Christy Wolovich
Associate Professor of Biology
Florida Southern College
Dr. Wolovich studies the behavioral ecology of nocturnal owl monkeys at the DuMond Conservancy of Primates and Tropical Forests. She also works with the Communities for Red Colobus (C4RC) project to promote the conservation of primates in The Gambia, West Africa.
